But first we have to leave Imsouane and our dear neighbour Jean-Loup. Krysia has been busy ipading so her images are a great way to end the surfy stay here before starting on our next adventure. We have so enjoyed Jean the wolf's company that leaving is a bit sad but we make up for it with much laughter as our shared learning of french and english reaches new heights of amusement. Our accents will never be correct and I for one am glad of that. Some things can not be said. Jean-loup tries so hard to say a simple English word, 'raw', and fails with increasing laughter. It is such a subtle thing language, I have just as much trouble with french sounds that could easily get me in to trouble!! So I won't list them. So to you Jean-loup we are well impressed with your determination to grasp our language at the expense of much laughter. Xxx.
We spend the last two days surfing together as well as other things such as Zen meditation which has been an enlightening gift. Just a sampler and in these times of high stress perhaps an interesting alternative to booze or TV. We shall see. Finding a quiet time in ones day can be nearly impossible unless you make it happen.
Here I am carving another roller, captured by the ipad kid! In my dreams! The last surf I had, I spent more time under the water than on top of it! I think I took five large sets on my head before I managed to catch a wave, a nice one, coming in feeling more like I've been inside a washing machine than out in the surfy sea.
A lovely image of the Oued one has to walk through to get to the village from the campsite, a bit of old Morocco nestled amongst the ever increasing jungle of progress. This is where a French couple we know have bought a small house, Collette and Philipe. They now live here six months of the year. A simple life. Winter warmth as well as local acceptance. "" The French ''as they are known.
and to finish off, a boulder. A study.
a still Life
So we leave on Tuesday morning after saying as many goodbyes as we can manage and drive the drive, as increasing cloud and wind blow us east to Marrakech. With a tail wind we arrive in plenty of time to meet our lovely Jaimie and Storm. After happy hello's we head through the mayhem of dusk in Marrakech and find our way to the camp site. It's cold and trying to rain! But the warmth of their arrival keeps all of us happy. We're going to have a great holiday together and the sun will shine soon. This is after all Morocco.
Some photographs of our last day in Imsouane on the last day of March.
We will be back!
